Thievery Tips
- The pickpocketing process tin can and will end prematurely if something cancels your sneaking (such as a dissimilar NPC walking up behind yous) or if the NPC you are currently pickpocketing walks out of melee range.
- Considering NPCs will normally walk around (making it difficult to pickpocket them), it tin can exist effective to have ane of your characters talk to the NPC you desire to pickpocket, and then have your Thievery character sneak up behind and rob them while they are preoccupied.
- Undead characters can use their bony fingers to pick locks. Picking a lock with an undead character does not require a lockpick and volition non eat a lockpick.
- It is possible to pickpocket usable items (such equally food/potions, grenades, elemental arrows, etc) off of enemies before a fight. This volition forestall those items from existence used by them in one case you properly engage them in battle.
- If an object that seems like it could be unlocked (such as a sarcophagus) says that it is "too heavy", it actually requires Strength to open, and not Thievery.
- While most characters can be pickpocketed every bit long as you have 1 level in thievery, some very specific characters tin only exist pickpocketed with X thievery level. For example, "requires thievery iii to pickpocket this graphic symbol".
- While most locks/doors/gates/chests/etc in the game tin exist opened with the right thievery level, some special ones cannot be lockpicked no matter what.
- You tin can use Smoke Encompass to quickly pickpocket people even while everyone is looking (Useful to rid guards of grenades/arrows, or to get a specific item or two). Anoint the Smoke Encompass (Grants invisibility) if y'all want more than time stealing. Smoke is not ordinarily recommended as it disappears after a few seconds and can get out the thief in a tight spot.
- Pickpocket NPCs in crowded areas by talking to them with a character and so teleporting that character away from anyone else. The NPC will walk over to that histrion, who is now out of eyesight of everyone else in town, to tell them not to poof away when someone is talking to them. You can at present rob them bullheaded in the condolement of a back alleyway.
- 1 trick to steal multiple times from the same NPC is to hire a mercenary character, respec them into thieving and and so throwing all your thieving equipment on them. You can then dismiss them and hire a dissimilar mercenary and repeat the same procedure.
